Data Buoys go live

January 14, 2015/in News/by meteor

Meteor have provided two MCC-972XS GPRS Telemetry units to Partech Instruments for retro fitment on data buoys at PD Ports Teesside. The units report multiple Water Quality parameters in real time with 15 minute data acquisition and also control the instrumentation for power efficiency. The use of Meteor telemetry has increased the data collection capability of the buoys whilst reducing power consumption.

Beach Water Quality Prediction System goes live

May 16, 2014/in News/by meteor

Meteor have provided a hosted data dissemination solution to defra and the Environment Agency, providing predicted Water Quality information for beaches across the UK. Taking information from a central prediction database, beach controllers can subscribe to the service to provide a daily SMS predicting the Water Quality for that beach.

Hosted at the Meteor Data Centre, the system is expected to send over 75,000 messages during the 2014 Bathing Season. Meteor have also developed a robust standalone LED display for use at beaches, which will automatically update daily with Water Quality predictions.
