The Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Storeman to support our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in stock control and warehouse activities.
- Based in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
- Work as part of a close-knit manufacturing and engineering team
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming goods, inspect for quality/damage, and verify quantities against delivery documentation
- Accurately record stock movements using the ERP system
- Monitor and control stock levels and condition of PPE, tools and consumables
- Monitor stock levels of parts and report shortages or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with regular stock counts and audits
- Safely store materials, components, and finished goods in designated locations
- Pick and issue materials to production teams to minimise manufacturing downtime
- Ensure proper labelling, identification, and traceability of all items
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment meeting health and safety protocols, warehouse standards and company procedures
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or storekeeping role, ideally within manufacturing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word
- Basic understanding of ERP, inventory control and stock management systems
- Good attention to detail and high accuracy in counting parts, reconciling stock discrepancies, and managing complex works orders
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities for collaboration with engineers, sub-contractors, and supply chain partners
- Physically fit and able to handle manual lifting where required
- Experience organising couriers for goods dispatch (desirable but not essential)
- Forklift licence or pallet stacker experience (desirable but not essential)
