Meteor Communications is a rapidly expanding (20 to 30% a year for the last 5 years), is profitable and cash generative. Meteor is privately by its co-founders with almost 50 employees. We operate in environmental monitoring markets, delivering innovative monitoring solutions for the Environment Agency, UK Water Companies, Railways, and international customers.
Meteor is a hybrid business that covers manufacturing, service and Data.
We design and manufacture a range of telemetry products, including the ESNET system and MRC remote cameras, and perform vital monitoring for the Private and Public Sector. Our work supports critical environmental protection and infrastructure, giving our team the opportunity to make a tangible real-world impact.
We are a world leader in the collation and analysis of water quality and other environmental data and have pioneered the concept of Water Quality as a Service (WQaaS) using our own proprietary, MeteorCloud system.
The Role
As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for increasing Meteor’s market presence and brand equity via multiple channels, enhancing lead generation both domestically and internationally and for all the revenue streams of the business from manufacturing to data.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement a product and communication marketing strategy for all products, maximising brand awareness to key industry decision-makers, and grow our corporate presence.
- Manage external communications through social and industry media for maximum reach, including management of the analytics. Manage recording of key contacts and cultivation of potential leads.
- Take ownership of company websites, both UK and worldwide.
- Supervise market surveys and studies either done internally or outsourced. Monitor developments in the industry, including competitor communications, competitive mapping and feed back to the board.
- Create all marketing material, digital or not, to support the value proposition.
- Organise presence at regular trade shows and other industry events.
- Liaise and synchronise with the Office Manager on internal communication to promote employee engagement and retention.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in a similar role (at least 5 years).
- Self-starter as this position will create the Marketing department at Meteor.
- Able to demonstrate experience and proficiency in social marketing activities.
- Comfortable with digital marketing.
- Experience of small to medium sized businesses.
- Adept at evaluating competing priorities and focussing on delivery and ownership.
- A natural team player.
Desirable Experience
- Background in an Environmental or Data Services Industry a plus.
- Google Analytics (or similar)
Location
St Albans, Hertfordshire (onsite).
Some travel to our office in Aldermaston will be required as part of the role.
Role Type
Full-time (37,5 hours per week). Core hours 9am – 3pm.
Salary
£50k + bonus dependent on experience.
