Meteor Communications offer a range of telemetry units which use GPRS and GSM technologies to give robust, secure real time data acquisition and control. All units are web enabled, allowing instant access to data.
These units are optimised for low power consumption whilst having a wide range of input and control options. This enables a huge variety of sensors to be used and also interface to control equipment such as pumps, autosamplers, weir gates and dosing equipment.
Sensor connection interfaces include SDI-12, RS232 and RS485 for intelligent sondes, level sensors and other instruments. With true transparent capabilities individual sensors can be interrogated and setup remotely if required. Up to 16 analogue inputs can be independently configured to handle virtually any instrument from 4-20mA to 0-30V. Digital I/O can be configured to operate as inputs or outputs for serial counters, state change control, alarm and BCD control operations.
Power outputs are also available for direct connection to systems which require higher power capabilities, with configurable volt free or +12/5V outputs.
These units work in conjunction with the advanced control and alarm capabilities available at the Meteor Data Centre, to provide data collection and control nodes for integrated network alarm and control functions for sophisticated operations such as distributed sampling, remote triggering and combined distributed sensor alarming.
With robust data transfer and protocols two way communication is secure and reliable, ensuring that these units are suitable for mission critical SCADA applications. In the event of a GPRS network failure the unit will automatically revert to GSM to ensure no data loss.
Each unit is also equipped with internal logging capabilities, storing many weeks of data locally for download or backup purposes.
With full compatibility between Meteor Radio and GPRS units integrated monitoring networks can be established which are seamless and combine the benefits of both communication paths.

Instant Deployment Portable:
This range consists of two units which share a common DNA, the MCC-972P and the MCC-972 ESNET. Both are designed for Field personnel to deploy in minutes and to deliver reliable data from the most inhospitable of environments. With real time data transfer and two way control these units are complete monitoring stations.
Housed in weatherproof, robust enclosures all connections are made via IP67 connectors. This ensures that even when submerged data acquisition will still continue.
Operator site setup is kept to a minimum as all configuration can be performed remotely. Once the sensors are connected and communication established the user can confidently leave site knowing that data will be available via the web instantly.
With internal power systems the units can power sensors and control remote equipment, whilst inbuilt regulators allow for direct connection of solar panels to supplement the internal power packs. Units can operate autonomously for months using their own internal batteries, or indefinitely with a small solar panel.
This range is also formed of two units, the MCC-972XS and the MCC-972. These units can be supplied as standalone units. They are also used in our monitor kiosks, fitment into control panels and for integration into existing site infrastructure.
Built in aluminium enclosures they have industry standard connections to allow for connection of I/O in a compact, reliable interface.
The MCC-972XS has a high level of specification at a low cost. Ideal for fundamental monitoring and control applications this unit can be used as a standalone outstation, control node or to web enable existing infrastructure such as Campbell Scientific Loggers.
The MCC-972 adds significant I/O capabilities for monitoring and control of larger scale applications whilst retaining all the benefits of the Meteor GPRS platform. It also offers back compatibility with other stations, giving users an upgrade path from their existing systems.
Both units are again optimised for low power consumption, making them suitable for use in remote locations where only primary battery or solar options are available.
